Job Description

Field engineer deploying Motorola Solutions’ emergency call-handling technologies. Configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting cloud and on-premise public-safety systems during frequent US and international travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform system configuration for supported and assigned Emergency Call Handling solutions, including hybrid cloud and SaaS-based applications
  • Perform site verification testing before cutting sites into production
  • Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between local site infrastructure and cloud-hosted application environments
  • Support customers and channel partners during production deployment
  • Document solution changes, including cloud tenant configurations and API integrations
  • Ensure installation and quality issues are resolved efficiently
  • Participate in developing and approving Methods of Procedure for cloud migrations and system upgrades
  • Participate in pre-contract oral presentations and customer negotiations as required
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in emerging cloud-native public safety technologies
  • Report to the ECH Field Engineer Manager
  • Be accountable for on-site configuration, testing, cut, and post-cut support for on-premise and cloud-hosted ECH solutions

Requirements:

  • High School diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Technology
  • Must have 5+ years of experience working in an Engineering or Technical environment
  • 3+ years of experience in the deployment or Integration of complex IP products and systems
  • CompTIA Network+ AND Security+
  • Experience with cloud-based application troubleshooting, including connectivity, latency analysis, and identity management (SSO/Active Directory)
  • Experience with server virtualization, database servers, server and workstation operating systems, Linux, network switches, firewalls, and routers
  • Telephony knowledge related to analog lines and PRI, including troubleshooting and physical configuration/termination
  • Familiarity with ACD call routing and provisioning
  • Familiarity with SIP interfaces and call flow ladders for troubleshooting and SBC provisioning
  • Basic Active Directory knowledge pertaining to account segregation and role assignments
  • Ability to operate independently and self-manage time based on objectives and goals
  • Must possess or be eligible for a US passport for international travel up to 75%
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer work permit sponsorship is not available
  • Previous experience in Public Safety Applications deployment and integration, and/or operations and administration preferred
  • Relevant cloud certifications preferred/are a plus
  • Candidate ideally should be familiar with virtual machine deployments and hosted systems, ESXI/KVM RedHat
  • Candidate ideally should be familiar with Cisco switch configurations
