Job Description
Field Service Technician commissioning and servicing large-scale PV plants and battery storage systems for SMA Solar Technology. Coordinating field teams and diagnosing technical faults.
Responsibilities:
- Independently carry out commissioning, repairs, and maintenance on complex utility-scale PV plants and battery storage solutions with central inverters
- Perform all required functional tests
- Set up and test plant-level communication, control, and monitoring systems
- Systematically analyze technical faults on site and evaluate the results
- Structured escalation of new or complex fault patterns
- Provide technical direction to and coordinate local teams, service partners, or subcontractors
- Record completed work using service management systems
- Share best practices and conduct regular training and qualification programs
Requirements:
- Completed vocational training in electrical engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of photovoltaic technology and an understanding of the components used is an advantage
- Experience in IT network technology and/or medium-voltage technology is desirable
- Class B driving license
- Willingness to travel extensively and flexibility for assignments in Germany and abroad
- Good English skills at B2 level
- Very good German skills at C1 level
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
