Job Description
Senior Finance Manager leading Cost Accounting and Operations Finance transformation projects at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Driving S/4HANA ERP, governance, reporting, and organizational change globally.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex projects end-to-end, including objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, resources, timelines, success criteria, implementation, and handover
- Influence and partner with senior stakeholders across global teams
- Drive finance transformation initiatives involving processes, operating models, reporting, controls, automation, ERP systems, and finance technology
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies; maintain RAID logs and mitigation plans
- Maintain project documentation, manage change control, and ensure governance compliance
- Prepare executive project status reports, dashboards, steering-committee materials, decision papers, and recommendations
- Lead organizational change, including impact assessment, communications, training, adoption, readiness, and transition to business-as-usual operations
- Ensure project delivery meets internal controls, audit requirements, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Lead project-related change management, communication, and training
- Assess and implement AI, machine learning, and generative AI opportunities for reporting efficiency, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and insight generation
- Support ad-hoc internal, group, and corporate requests
- Report to the Director, Finance Projects
- Lead the Cost Accounting and Operations Finance workstream for the Microbiology Division divestiture, focusing on S/4HANA ERP transformation
- Collaborate with Finance, IT, Operations, and Product Data Management stakeholders
- Enforce global governance, standard costing, data governance, and accurate OCOGS reporting
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business related field
- 8+ years relevant experience in finance
- Demonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation (The Four I’s)
- Project management experience
- Experience working in a global, matrixed environment preferred
- Strong team building skills and ability to work with a diverse group of customers in a global-matrixed environment
- Self-motivated; bias for action
- Less than 25% domestic/international travel required
