Job Description
Senior Java Consultant designing and implementing APIs and databases for global consulting firm. Collaborating with teams on strategic transformations and client solutions.
Responsibilities:
- You will design and implement APIs, databases, and backend services using Java, Spring Boot, OpenAPI, Kafka, Oracle PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL
- Develop responsive and user-friendly web interfaces with Angular and TypeScript
- Automate deployments and testing pipelines using CI/CD tools such as Gradle, GitLab and Open Shift
- Actively participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decision‑making
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Build professional relationships with clients, management, and team members to ensure the delivery of proposed solutions
- Drive technical design decisions and challenge requirements when needed
- Propose architectural improvements (modularity, scalability, performance, security)
Requirements:
- You have a degree in Informatics, Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field
- You have 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend and full stack development (Java and Spring Boot)
- Proven experience building scalable web applications using Angular or React and TypeScript
- Strong expertise in cloud-native development, with hands-on experience on AWS and/or Azure
- Solid background in containerization and CI/CD pipelines
- You have a strong customer-oriented mindset
- Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in business English and German are mandatory
- Practical exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Copilot, AI-based code analysis, test generation, or documentation support) is a plus
