Job Description
Principal Technical Lead responsible for mainframe-to-AWS replatform delivery using Rocket Software. Leading technical strategy and overseeing various migration workstreams and security.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure: Rocket Enterprise Server (MFES) Enterprise Developer runtime
- Setup: Regions (CICS / batch regions) File handlers (VSAM emulation)
- Manage AWS Components EC2 (Compute instances for MFES) EBS / FSx (Storage for files) S3 (Batch input/output files) VPC / Subnets (networking)
- Lead technical strategy across all migration workstreams
- Own architecture decisions and ADR documentation
- Ensure Rocket ES stability, COBOL pipeline, and DevOps
- Oversee DB2 migration, shared services, and security
- Present at workshops and SteerCo on technical progress
Requirements:
- Rocket software Enterprise Server (Microfocus) Administrator. (strong — ES, EA, ED)
- COBOL replatform / mainframe modernization
- Experience with DB2 (z/OS and LUW), data migration, Precisely CDC
- AWS proficient resource with (AWS solution Architect associate certification at least)
- IBM MQ or Amazon MQ, job scheduling (Control-M)
- Security: RACF-to-LDAP migration, KMS, Security Hub
- Architecture leadership across multi-partner programs
