Job Description
Senior Mainframe Automation Specialist managing z/OS automation, GDPS, Hyperswap, and disaster recovery. Supporting Kyndryl’s mission-critical technology services for enterprise clients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance
- Oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians
- Prioritize tickets to deliver effective client solutions
- Recommend modernization options
- Identify new business opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with teams and stakeholders
- Perform z/OS automation software conversion and transformation
- Create integrations between z/OS automation software and platforms or tools including z/VM, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, MainView, ServiceNow, Remedy, and Netcool
- Install, customize, and upgrade GDPS
- Integrate new systems into existing GDPS environments
- Implement, test, and validate Hyperswap
- Develop disaster recovery and high-availability processes
- Prepare and validate software and hardware upgrades for mainframes and z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2, and MQ
- Create and maintain automated solutions using change and incident tools
- Apply AI knowledge through practical implementations
- Collaborate with diverse teams and support customer success
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of automation tools such as Broadcom OPS MVS, Mainview Auto Operator, IBM AF OPER, and System Automation
- Deep REXX programming knowledge
- Experience with z/OS automation software conversion and transformation
- Experience integrating z/OS automation software with z/VM, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, MainView, ServiceNow, Remedy, Netcool, and similar tools
- Experience installing, customizing, and upgrading GDPS
- Ability to integrate new systems into an existing GDPS environment
- Ability to implement, test, and validate Hyperswap
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and high-availability processes
- Ability to prepare and validate mainframe, z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2, and MQ software and hardware upgrades
- Knowledge of change and incident tools for creating and maintaining automated solutions
- AI knowledge and practical implementation experience
- Ability to converse in English and/or Spanish
- Preferred: Mainframe Modernization
- Preferred: Mainframe Integration with Hyperscaler solutions
