Job Description
Senior Mainframe Automation Specialist managing z/OS automation, GDPS, Hyperswap, and disaster recovery for Kyndryl’s enterprise technology clients. Fully remote role based in Hungary.
Responsibilities:
- Manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance
- Oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians
- Prioritize tickets to deliver effective client solutions
- Recommend modernization options and identify new business opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with other teams and stakeholders
- Perform z/OS automation software conversion and transformation
- Create integrations between z/OS automation software and platforms or tools including z/VM, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, MainView, ServiceNow, Remedy, and Netcool
- Install, customize, and upgrade GDPS and integrate new systems into existing GDPS environments
- Implement, test, and validate Hyperswap
- Develop disaster recovery and high-availability processes
- Prepare and validate software and hardware upgrades for mainframes, z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2, and MQ
- Create and maintain automated solutions using change and incident management tools
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of automation tools such as Broadcom OPS MVS, MainView Auto Operator, IBM AF OPER, and System Automation
- Deep REXX programming knowledge
- Experience with z/OS automation software conversion and transformation
- Experience integrating z/OS automation software with z/VM, OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, MainView, ServiceNow, Remedy, and Netcool
- Experience installing, customizing, and upgrading GDPS
- Knowledge of Hyperswap implementation, testing, and validation
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and high-availability processes
- Experience preparing and validating mainframe and software/hardware upgrades, including z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2, and MQ
- Knowledge of change and incident management tools for creating and maintaining automated solutions
- AI knowledge and practical implementation experience
- Ability to converse in English and/or Spanish
- Preferred: Mainframe modernization
- Preferred: Mainframe integration with hyperscaler solutions
