Job Description
Senior Merchandise Designer developing original concepts for merchandise at CatFace. Collaborating with management to create products aligning with entertainment content for diverse audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop original consumer product concepts that align with our content, storylines, and fanbase of all ages.
- Pitch ideas and concepts to the Merchandise manager and upper management to incorporate feedback to refine and improve concepts.
- Work through design challenges and development restraints, adapting as needed to maintain creative integrity.
- Create quick conceptual sketches, fully rendered designs, and 3D sculpts as needed for all projects.
- Champion great design in products and be a mentor for junior designers and artists.
- Immerse and learn about Catface and its content to ensure all products are authentic and relevant to our stories and Aphmauverse.
- Work closely with the Merchandise Manager & Director of Merchandise to align on creative direction and concept execution and deadlines.
- Actively partner with PD to ensure designs are within cost requirements, manufacturability, and schedules.
- Ensure design turnarounds, CMFs 3D files are completed with attention to detail while meeting crucial deadlines.
- Balance multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all milestones and deadlines met internally, externally, and cross-functionally.
- Provide clear updates to leadership on design progresses, challenges, and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Toy Design, Industrial Design, or similar industry-related discipline.
- 4-6 years of experience in the Toy or Consumer Products industry
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D software (Illustrator, Photoshop, Solidworks/Rhino/Keyshot)
- Proficient in all phases of design process (preliminary, development, production)
- Experience with various form factors, consumer products (hardgoods and softgoods).
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely follow-ups and clear communication across all stakeholders.
- Comfortable navigating evolving workflows, adapting quickly to feedback, and working in a highly collaborative creative environment.
- Proactive, dependable, and committed to quality and follow-through.
- Bonus Experience in both art production and consumer products design is a plus.
- Experience in packaging design is a plus.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools or project tracking software (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Airtable) is a plus.
