Job Description

Senior Product Manager shaping trusted reporting and insights for Remote’s global employment, payroll, finance, and compliance platform. Defining roadmaps, payroll-grade data foundations, and AI-assisted experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the vision and roadmap for a multi-surface reporting system across in-app report building, dashboards, scheduled delivery, exports, APIs/connectors, embedded partner surfaces, and AI/agent experiences
  • Build empathy for payroll, finance, HR, executive, manager, internal operator, and partner/builder personas and translate workflows into product priorities
  • Own payroll-grade reporting capabilities including standard reports, configurable report building, GL/journal exports, variance reporting, reconciliation, definitions, permissions, lineage, auditability, and observability
  • Identify opportunities for AI, anomaly detection, driver analysis, and proactive recommendations while keeping outputs explainable, source-backed, and compliant
  • Partner with Data, Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, Sales, CX, Finance, Operations, and external partners to deliver scalable reporting solutions
  • Establish KPIs for adoption, engagement, trust, report accuracy, distribution usage, retention, expansion, and internal leverage
  • Continuously use customer feedback and data to improve the product
  • Report to a Senior Group Product Manager and collaborate daily with cross-functional partners

Requirements:

  • Track record as a Product Manager focused on reporting, analytics, data platforms, workflow, or insights products
  • Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code (Required)
  • Ability to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional code and prototypes
  • Ability to understand data schemas, query patterns, analytics code, and AI-assisted workflows hands-on
  • Strong end-to-end data literacy across models/schemas, lineage, and report generation
  • Understanding of grain, joins, aggregations, double-counting, currency/timezones, effective dating, and late-arriving data
  • Ability to read/write SQL to validate results and investigate discrepancies
  • Ability to ensure metrics are well-defined, reconciled, and trustworthy
  • Ability to partner with Data/Engineering on definition and modeling issues
  • Deep customer empathy and understanding of day-to-day workflows
  • Ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and navigate trade-offs
  • Strong UX sensibilities for complex data, reporting, and insights workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex data, reporting, AI, and compliance trade-offs to non-technical executives
  • Business-level proficiency writing and speaking English
  • Experience with HR Tech, payroll, finance, compliance, or B2B SaaS products (nice to have)
