Job Description
Senior QA Automation Engineer with StorMagic handling quality lifecycle and automation testing in a remote role. Collaborating on multiple tech stacks and Agile sprints to ensure software quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the testing effort for complex features. This includes reviewing requirements, creating detailed test plans in Xray, and performing deep exploratory testing to identify "edge case" system failures.
- Maintain and scale our automation frameworks. You will contribute to a Python/Selenium suite for one product line and a Java/Playwright suite for another, ensuring high standards of code reusability and stability.
- Perform technical "deep dives" into infrastructure components, including Virtualization (KVM/ESXi), software-defined storage, and networking protocols.
- Drive quality within 2-week sprints. You will provide accurate estimates, lead bug-triage sessions, and ensure that the "Definition of Done" always includes comprehensive automated coverage.
- Own and troubleshoot the automated quality gates within GitLab CI and Jenkins. You will be responsible for ensuring that failures are investigated and resolved quickly.
- Support and guide Associate-level engineers, conducting rigorous code reviews and sharing best practices for both manual and automated testing.
- Thoroughly document, track, and verify bugs in Jira, providing developers with detailed reproduction steps and logs from complex infrastructure environments.
Requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience/bootcamp).
- Professional proficiency in either Python or Java. Solid experience of both is preferred.
- Extensive experience with both Selenium WebDriver and Playwright.
- A strong background in testing "below the app layer." You should understand Virtualization, Storage arrays, and L2/L3 Networking.
- Expert-level experience with Jira and Xray (or similar test management plugins). You value structured testing and traceability.
- Experience configuring and maintaining pipelines in GitLab CI and Jenkins.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software in 2-week sprint cycles.
- Additionally, while not essential candidates with the following experience would be preferred: Experience using AI-augmented coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or LLMs) as a productivity accelerator and utilizing these tools to assist with framework optimization, refactoring code or generating complex test data.
Benefits:
