Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building scalable Golang and React solutions for Sezzle’s interest-free installment payments. Designing distributed systems, delivering features, and mentoring engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design software applications and features in Golang and React
- Build distributed architecture solutions that scale while maintaining consistency
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to design market-winning products
- Develop and collect metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Deliver high-quality, tested features adhering to reporting standards
- Lead small development teams as needed to bring projects to market
- Mentor engineering teammates
- Collaborate with Product, Support, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams
- Provide scalable and innovative solutions to internal and customer problems
- Iterate based on feedback from internal and external users
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience
- Experience bringing new ideas and building consensus on the path forward
- Experience building and serving REST APIs using Go preferably, and Java, Python, or a similar language
- Experience working in a distributed, cloud-based architecture
- Experience with transactional outboxes or queuing tools such as RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka
- BS in Computer Science or similar degree
- Experience with SQL-based RDBMS through an ORM tool
- Familiarity with observability platforms such as Prometheus, NewRelic, or Datadog
- DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with containerized microservice architecture deployed with Kubernetes on AWS
- Demonstrated history of delivering commercial APIs and web applications
- Record of bringing products to market and prioritizing solutions based on stakeholder/customer feedback
- High standards for software quality and defect prevention
- Ability to challenge decisions respectfully and commit to decisions once made
