Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building AI-powered healthcare applications at Curai Health. Developing full-stack features with React, Python, AWS, and healthcare data expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Work across the stack to drive high-leverage projects from concept through completion
- Up-level the team through expertise in API or system design, application development, cloud infrastructure, healthcare data, or related areas
- Collaborate with software engineers, machine learning researchers, physicians, product managers, and UX researchers
- Develop new and update existing user-facing features
- Collaborate with backend engineers to establish consistent APIs and frontend interaction patterns
- Lead and guide cross-team application architecture decisions
- Produce detailed technical specifications and feature documentation
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Meet with product owners, AI/ML researchers, doctors, and stakeholders using Agile practices to define, negotiate, and estimate application features
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- 5–7 years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer, owning features from design through delivery and iteration
- Professional experience with React, including components, hooks, state management, and performance
- Python backend experience, ideally with async frameworks such as FastAPI or Starlette
- Experience with both NoSQL and relational databases, including DynamoDB and Postgres
- Comfort with asynchronous workflows, including background jobs, retries, idempotency, and eventual consistency
- Demonstrated experience using testing to improve product excellence, including end-to-end coverage, visual regression testing, and CI
- Understanding of AWS, Docker, Terraform, AI/ML technologies, Git, and RESTful services
- React Native/Expo or cross-platform mobile experience is a nice-to-have
- Visual/snapshot regression testing, Storybook, or harness engineering experience is a nice-to-have
- Experience building design systems or component libraries is a nice-to-have
- Accessibility knowledge, including WCAG and screen readers, is a nice-to-have
- LLM application experience, including streaming, tool calling, and evaluation-driven iteration, is a nice-to-have
- Temporal or other durable execution systems experience is a nice-to-have
- Healthcare data experience, including CDA/CCD/FHIR, is a plus
