Job Description
Senior Technical Product Manager shaping secure, scalable HR technology products at First Advantage. Translating business strategy into technical requirements, backlogs, and measurable delivery outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Own the product definition and backlog quality by synthesizing customer input, defining market problems and product outcomes, and translating strategy into epics, features, and user stories
- Maintain backlog clarity, readiness, and priority alignment
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture on scalable, event-driven, and secure system designs
- Communicate priorities, context, constraints, and expected outcomes to development teams
- Evaluate tradeoffs across customer value, technical feasibility, delivery risk, and platform health
- Lead iteration planning and backlog refinement in agile workflows
- Identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers
- Champion AI, automated testing, reuse, repeatability, and secure-by-design practices
- Track product performance and delivery metrics and use data and feedback to adjust the roadmap
- Balance feature development with defect resolution and technical debt reduction
- Serve as a subject matter expert and product ambassador for internal and external stakeholders
- Build cross-functional relationships around roadmap priorities and delivery expectations
- Mentor and support others in modern product management and agile delivery practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Owner, Software Engineer, or similar role in agile environments
- Experience with criminal data source fulfillment or regulated data environments highly desired
- Familiarity with AI, API-architected, and event-driven systems
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and making informed decisions with incomplete data
- Strong technical acumen involving APIs, system architecture, integrations, and cloud-native ecosystems
- Ability to translate complex business problems into clear, actionable technical requirements
- Experience balancing feature delivery with platform health, scalability, and security
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Customer-focused, results-oriented, and biased toward learning and iteration
- Collaborative, accountable, and comfortable leading without authority
- Analytical thinking with strong prioritization and decision-making skills
