Job Description
Senior Thermal Analysis Engineer analyzing thermal performance and designing cooling solutions for SolarEdge’s solar, storage, and EV energy products. Collaborating with electrical and mechanical designers on validated, cost-optimized designs.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze thermal performance of electronic boxes with high power dissipation components, including PCBs, transformers, and batteries
- Design air/water cooling solutions including air filtration, heat radiation, and solar loading
- Analyze systems from component to cabinet level
- Work in close collaboration with electrical and mechanical designers
- Select off-the-shelf components such as fans, heat sinks, and thermal interface materials
- Design and conduct validation experiments
- Optimize existing designs for cost reduction
Requirements:
- B. Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering from a recognized university
- At Least 5 years of experience in flow and thermal simulations
- Ability to analytically model simple problems
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborate effectively within a team, and adapt flexibly to changes
- Experience in thermal management of power electronics is a great advantage
- Familiarity with electronic packaging design is a great advantage
- Familiarity with mechanical design for manufacturing by plastic injection, die casting, metal forming, and mass production is a great advantage
- Familiarity with PCB design is a great advantage
