Job Description

Industrial Refrigeration Engineer handling heavy commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. Responsible for maintenance, repairs, and proactive service at client sites in Scotland.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out PPM on all types of heavy commercial and industrial refrigeration systems utilising all types of refrigerants – ammonia, F-Gas (HFC and HFO), carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons.
  • Reactive service including fault-finding mechanical, electrical and control systems, including performing emergency standby rota duties.
  • Compressor repairs and overhauls.
  • Leak testing.
  • Pressure testing.
  • Refrigerant recovery and charging.
  • Ability to operate on own initiative and as part of a team to effect attainment of agreed targets and objectives.
  • Ability to develop a good understanding of our customers business requirements and operations.
  • Proactive approach to all tasks undertaken – a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good Working knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel and Word.
  • Completion of all relevant documentation to a high standard.
  • General plant room and equipment housekeeping duties.

Requirements:

  • Ideally completed a formal apprenticeship in Refrigeration.
  • CITB Safety Passport.
  • City & Guilds 2078 / 2079 F-Gas Refrigerant Handling / CITB Ammonia Handling Certificate / A3 Refrigerant Handling / CO2 Refrigerant Handling
  • City & Guilds 207 - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • NVQ1, 2 & 3 - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • Pressure Testing Competency.
  • Specific Compressor Manufacturers Training Courses.
  • Controls and Strategy experience
