Job Description
Software Engineer II building Akamai’s bot detection and fraud prevention systems. Developing scalable, low-latency security products using Java or Go, APIs, machine learning, and LLMs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop projects that improve bot and request risk detection products
- Implement new features from scratch
- Enhance existing features and optimize functionality from conception and design through testing and deployment
- Work with level 3 support to troubleshoot complex problems and customer issues
- Perform data analysis for web and mobile platforms
- Build usable, reliable, and scalable solutions for bot threat detection, protection, and request risk detection
Requirements:
- 2+ years of overall software development experience
- Degree in Computer Science or another related discipline
- Experience with web API development in a performant compiled language such as Java or Go
- Good understanding of HTTP
- Knowledge of data formats such as JSON and XML
- Experience or understanding of integrating machine learning tools and LLMs
- Ability to design suitable architectures
- Ability to produce clean, well-structured code and relevant test cases
- Experience with agentic development tools
