Job Description
Senior Backend Software Developer building digital customer experiences for Slate’s affordable electric vehicles. Leading software architecture, cloud development, testing, technical decisions, and mentorship.
Responsibilities:
- Define, design, architect, implement, and deliver Slate software
- Code and test system components
- Lead code and design reviews
- Own end-to-end code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration
- Simplify systems and solve challenging problems through innovation and creativity
- Collaborate with UX and product teams to build customer-focused solutions and applications
- Serve as an authority on technical issues and advise on difficult trade-off decisions
- Drive awareness of the business impact and consequences of technical decisions
- Balance technical leadership with business judgment when making long-term technology choices
- Support career development and mentor individuals and the technical community on advanced technical issues
- Help managers guide team members’ career growth
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- 6+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language, such as TypeScript, Python, Java, etc.
- 6+ years of experience working with cloud services from AWS and/or Azure
- 4+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems, including architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling
- 4+ years of experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Proficient use of LLM technologies and prompt engineering development patterns
