Job Description
Speech-Language Pathologist assessing and treating children’s communication disorders for K12’s online education program. Managing speech-only caseloads, compliance, evaluations, and family communication technology support.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent communication and swallowing disorders in children
- Screen and evaluate students with speech-language impairments
- Provide speech-language therapy
- Document student performance
- Support student support team (SST)/response to intervention (RTI) processes
- Manage speech-only caseloads
- Monitor compliance for speech-only case managers
- Monitor compliance with regulations
- Instruct students and families in using appropriate communication technologies, including alternative augmentative communication devices
- Maintain files and records, including progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, and reports
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to convey and gather information
- Work with school and community/family partnerships through a student-centered instructional model
Requirements:
- South Carolina Department of Education Certification required
- South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Speech-Language Pathology Licensure required
- Must reside in South Carolina or surrounding states
- Open to surrounding states: North Carolina, Georgia
- Must be able to obtain a South Carolina certification
- Master's degree in speech language pathology and three (3) years of speech/language work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Highly knowledgeable about Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) due process requirements
- Thorough knowledge and skill in conducting/interpreting comprehensive speech-language evaluations
- Thorough knowledge and skill in providing speech-language therapy services
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to plan and deliver speech-language services to children
- Ability to create and deliver staff development
- Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Web proficiency
- Ability to travel 20% of time for meetings, professional development, etc.
- Ability to pass background check requirements
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
- Management experience desired
