Job Description

Sports Content Writer creating and maintaining high-quality metadata for sports content. Engaging sports enthusiasts through research and writing at Simply.TV.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and create original titles, attributes, and descriptive synopses for live and taped sporting events and sports TV shows.
  • Perform database entry and ongoing maintenance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of sports metadata.
  • Conduct in‑depth online research to verify event details, participants, formats, and context.
  • Edit, proof, and update schedules and program information in line with internal standards.
  • Support database audits and generate query‑based reports to identify production needs and data gaps.
  • Consistently meet productivity and quality benchmarks, including an average output of **3.0 - 4.0 descriptions per hour** over a rolling 90‑day period.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and alignment with production requirements.

Requirements:

  • Excellent English grammar, spelling, and writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use online research tools effectively and independently.
  • Comfortable multitasking in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate across departments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and common internet browsers and search engines.
  • Typing speed of 40+ words per minute.
  • Interest in sports, media, or television content.
  • Previous experience in content writing, editing, journalism, or data entry is a plus.

Benefits:
