Job Description
Staff Accountant maintaining financial records, reconciliations, and reporting for Cast Finance’s entrepreneur Members. Supporting AP, AR, sales tax, and process improvements through tech-enabled accounting services.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete financial records for assigned Member accounts
- Complete month-end close activities on schedule
- Prepare and issue accurate monthly financial statements and reporting packages
- Import, categorize, and maintain transactional data
- Reconcile all reconcilable accounts, including monthly bank reconciliations
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and investigate variances and irregularities
- Organize and update financial records for accuracy and compliance
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax, and related accounting processes
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
- Identify discrepancies, resolve issues proactively, and recommend workflow, system, and process improvements
- Recommend ways to improve workflows, reduce costs, or enhance revenue for Members
- Collaborate with the Member Services Team and work with a Senior Accountant reviewer
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Understanding of and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience managing multiple clients at once, such as at a CPA or small accounting firm
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining financial information
- Comfortable using QuickBooks Online, Excel, project management tools, and AI assistants
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Able to work effectively with a Senior Accountant reviewer
- Able to handle complex, time-sensitive tasks with accuracy
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must reside and work remotely from Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, Oklahoma, Utah, or Wisconsin
- CPA is not required
