Job Description
Staff Accountant supporting the Organizational Finance team at RMI. Handling journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy while promoting a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare periodic and monthly journal entries
- Manage the fixed asset and prepaid expenses schedules
- Assist with monthly reclass process
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
- Reconcile bank statements monthly
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger
- Assist with monthly financial close process
- Suggest and implement process improvements
- Assist and/or act as back up to all core accounting functions as needed including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management and Payroll
- Assist during various audits including but not limited to preparing documentation for auditors
- Support for any accounting related questions from internal and external constituents
- Backup to all Assistant Controller responsibilities
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff
- Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
- Assist with state compliance and reporting requirements, as needed
- Additional responsibilities, as required
- Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 1-3+ years’ experience in an accounting role
- Detail and service oriented with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Positive, highly motivated, and flexible with changing deadlines and workloads
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
- Experience using Workday or similar accounting system
