Job Description
Substation Engineer leading various Power Grid Utility projects. Responsible for the development and review of substation engineering designs and components.
Responsibilities:
- Support or lead substation engineering project teams.
- Develop General Arrangements for Substations, Equipment Plans, Control House Layouts, etc.
- Perform design studies and demonstrate knowledge of physical electrical substation design.
- Coordinate design activities to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Assist in site visits and project meetings.
- Provide construction support including resolving site queries and inspections.
- Manage project documentation and engineering studies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience focused on the development of substation engineering for Intermediate positions.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred for all positions, required for Senior positions.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Prior utility consulting experience is a plus.
- Strong client focus and customer service.
- A high level of interpersonal communication skills, including a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards including the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and IEEE.
- Ability to perform independently and in a team environment and provide project ownership.
