Job Description
Manager, Supplier Quality executing and advancing supplier quality and risk management programs at Chomps. Leading supplier onboarding and performance management across a global supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- executing and advancing the company’s supplier quality and raw material risk management programs across a global supply chain
- leading supplier onboarding, audit execution, and ongoing supplier performance management for protein and ingredient suppliers
- ensuring alignment with company standards, regulatory requirements, and brand expectations
- partnering closely with Procurement, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to support supplier selection, qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives
- requiring extensive domestic and international travel to assess supplier capabilities, build strong relationships, and ensure consistent execution of food safety and quality programs across the supply base
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in food safety or supplier quality within the USDA-FSIS regulated meat and poultry industry. Experience in slaughter or primary processing environments preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of USDA-FSIS regulations is required; working knowledge of FDA food regulations is preferred.
- Strong experience with HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI-recognized audit schemes.
- Strong understanding of raw material risk, supplier specifications, and protein variability
- Familiarity with supplier management systems such as TraceGains or similar.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence suppliers and drive corrective actions.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
- Ability to travel 50–70%, including domestic and international travel.
