Job Description

Technical Engineer advising industrial lubricant customers for Castrol, a global lubricants brand. Developing application solutions, trials, training, and technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote safety awareness and ensure compliance with high HSSE standards
  • Build and maintain sustainable customer relationships and provide on-site technical consulting
  • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders as an expert in industrial lubricant applications
  • Support sales teams in winning new business and expanding existing customer relationships
  • Develop commercially viable, practical solutions for complex customer requirements in collaboration with Sales
  • Design and deliver technical training for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Technology and Marketing to further develop products and services
  • Conduct and evaluate field trials involving new and optimized lubricants
  • Document and share best practices and create technical case studies
  • Analyze and assess used-oil analyses to support technical decisions
  • Support strategic projects implementing the Castrol Industries strategy
  • Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues
  • Represent Castrol in technical networks, associations, working groups, and, when required, at universities

Requirements:

  • Completed degree in engineering or a comparable qualification, such as mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, lubricant technology, manufacturing engineering, or a related field
  • At least three years of professional experience in an industrial environment
  • Solid knowledge of metalworking fluids, high-performance lubricants, and their applications
  • Good understanding of tribology and the technical fundamentals of lubricants
  • Strong technical customer consulting and value-selling skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM systems such as Salesforce, and other relevant tools
  • Structured, solution-oriented approach to complex technical questions
  • Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, and resource conservation is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and a confident demeanor with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Must comply with applicable local policies; employment may be contingent on drug screening, a medical fitness review, and background checks
