Job Description

Technical Sales Specialist growing hydraulic and filtration systems sales for RG Group. Advising customers, managing vendors, and developing business across five Mid-Atlantic states.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute territory sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals for hydraulic and filtration product lines
  • Identify new prospects and build partnerships across manufacturing, construction, agriculture, mining, and other target industries
  • Assess customer needs, read engineered schematics, and recommend hydraulic components, filters, and fluid power systems
  • Visit job sites and client facilities to conduct system audits, troubleshoot performance issues, and present cost-saving solutions
  • Provide technical and sales support to customer service and sales teams
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams
  • Serve as point of contact for key vendors
  • Drive strategic growth initiatives, product line development, joint customer engagement activities, quarterly business reviews, and performance metrics
  • Develop annual business plans for vendors as required
  • Maintain accurate customer files, track sales pipelines, and forecast future revenue
  • Monitor competitor activity, track industry trends, and provide feedback to internal product teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years’ experience in hydraulic sales
  • Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist preferred
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain relationships at a high level with major customers
  • Effective listening skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with engineers to solve their problems
  • Value added sales approach
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Previous knowledge and possession of good selling techniques and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and foster sales growth
  • Strong time management and goal setting skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Outlook
  • 50-60% car travel required
  • Occasional air travel required
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
