Job Description
Telepsychiatrist evaluating Carewell members with behavioral health needs. Providing treatment recommendations and consulting with nurses, social workers, and care navigators.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations with members who have behavioral health needs, including depression, anxiety, and cognitive or mood concerns
- Develop treatment recommendations, including medication management where in scope and appropriate
- Coordinate with members' primary care providers and existing behavioral health providers to support continuity of care
- Review and guide care plans addressing behavioral health and social needs
- Consult with nurses, social workers, and care navigators on members with complex behavioral health needs
- Help the team recognize psychiatric red flags and support protocols used to escalate safety concerns
- Complete accurate, timely documentation for every evaluation and consultation
- Follow telehealth, prescribing, privacy (HIPAA), and consent requirements
- Deliver evaluations and recommendations within agreed timeframes
- Connect members to appropriate ongoing behavioral health care
- Escalate safety concerns the same day they are identified
Requirements:
- MD or DO with board certification (or board eligibility) in Psychiatry
- Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state
- Active DEA registration
- Located in the United States
- 2+ years of post-residency psychiatric practice
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary care team
- Comfortable with telehealth platforms and EHRs
- Your own reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a private, HIPAA-appropriate workspace
- Geriatric psychiatry experience or fellowship (nice to have)
- Licensure in multiple states or IMLC eligibility (nice to have)
- Experience with Medicare, dual-eligible, or older adult populations (nice to have)
- Collaborative care model experience (nice to have)
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
