Job Description

Territory Sales Manager selling Victaulic’s mechanical pipe-joining solutions across Connecticut. Pursuing construction projects, educating contractors and engineers, and growing territory revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn Victaulic products and mechanical pipe joining solutions
  • Learn competitive pipe-joining methods, construction cycles, market trends, and competitor activity
  • Integrate into local trade organizations and professional associations within the territory
  • Develop a business plan with the Regional Sales Manager, including opportunity mapping, sales goals, product promotion plans, and sales strategies
  • Execute project pursuit and project management from project inception through design, specifications, drawings, bidding, job-site training and support, commissioning, and after-sale follow-up
  • Gather application, specification, pricing, and timing information for quotation requisitions
  • Lead inside sales, engineering, and support staff to meet customer requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, building owners, project owners, and distributors
  • Coordinate with Victaulic representatives and regional market specialists to ensure the best customer experience
  • Educate customers about Victaulic products and their value
  • Conduct tool demonstrations, installation training, and presentations for contractors and engineers
  • Influence decision-makers and maximize sales potential within the territory
  • Travel throughout the territory, including possible overnight travel and customer events outside normal business hours

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • Previous sales experience selling value-added products or services preferred, particularly in commercial construction, PVF, or mechanical products
  • Demonstrated sales achievements
  • History of developing and nurturing long-standing customer relationships
  • Competitive nature, flexibility, and resiliency
  • Self-motivated and self-driven while working remotely with minimal supervision
  • Confidence, professional image, and engaging, affable personality when meeting customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
  • Creative thinking ability
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Solid project-management skills
  • Willingness to travel, including potentially heavier overnight travel in some territories
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to handle equipment weighing 50+ pounds
