Job Description

Test Automation Engineer for Enroute focusing on innovation and quality assurance. Involved in building and maintaining automated test suites and contributing to team success in agile environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain automated test suites using a modern browser automation framework (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO) to cover functional UI flows derived from user stories and UX specs
  • Integrate automated accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, IBM Equal Access, Deque) to ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across all UI changes
  • Set up and manage visual regression testing tooling (e.g., Applitools, Percy, BackstopJS) to catch unintended visual changes against approved design baselines
  • Participate in grooming sessions to review acceptance criteria early and define test scenarios before development starts
  • Maintain a living test suite that evolves alongside UX iterations — updating baselines and scenarios as designs are refined
  • Execute smoke tests and provide clear go/no-go signals
  • Log defects with reproducible steps, screenshots, and trace files; track them to resolution
  • Report test coverage, defect trends, and automation health to the project team

Requirements:

  • Solid hands-on experience with a browser automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO (TypeScript or JavaScript preferred)
  • Experience with accessibility testing using tools such as Axe-core, IBM Equal Access, or equivalent, with working knowledge of WCAG 2.1
  • Experience with visual regression testing using tools such as Applitools Eyes, Percy, or comparable solutions
  • Ability to read and interpret UX/UI design specs (e.g., Figma, Storybook, or similar) to derive test cases
  • Comfortable working in agile/scrum environments — grooming, sprint reviews, and daily standups
  • Strong defect reporting and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions without close oversight
  • Track record of scaling or improving an automation strategy, not just maintaining one
  • **Nice to have:**
  • Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Familiarity with design tokens and component-level visual testing
  • Knowledge of manual accessibility validation using screen readers (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS) to complement automated checks
  • Experience with API test automation (REST/GraphQL) using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar
