Job Description

Translation Coordinator managing the planning, scheduling, and delivery of language translation projects for Questel. Collaborating with project managers and ensuring timely delivery with quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Translation Coordination Team Leader
  • Responsible for the planning, scheduling, tracking, and delivery of the language translation phase of projects
  • Working with project managers to understand client business objectives
  • Spearheading planning and execution internally to ensure services are delivered on time
  • Accepting projects from project managers
  • Assigning projects to vendors or internal resources via SAVANTA
  • Tracking project status
  • Delivering projects to the File Formatting Team
  • Sending linguistic questions to project managers or linguistic teams
  • Processing purchase orders in SAVANTA
  • Consulting with other Translation Coordinators on questions about projects
  • Coordinating with other teams
  • Ensuring profitability of projects and meeting monthly revenue goals
  • Processing feedback to linguists and vendors
  • Escalating feedback needs through proper channels
  • Completing or compiling monthly reports and alerting management of error trends

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Professional translation experience or other similar language industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of SAVANTA, Trados, and MS applications
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to occasionally manage and deliver projects during non-standard hours
  • Outstanding planning, scheduling, and coordination skills
  • Highly motivated with a willingness to take initiative and complete assignments
  • Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision and regularly report on progress
  • Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in occasionally stressful situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, regression analysis, etc.) a plus
  • Good time management skills and ability to complete a heavy workload within an established time frame
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluency in a second language, other than English, or skill in translation/legal industries is preferred, but not required.
