Job Description
Optical Network Engineer performing upgrades and maintenance on Ciena platforms with operational support. Join Capgemini Engineering, leading projects in optical networking technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform software upgrades on Ciena optical platforms.
- Conduct network audits and assessments and prepare MOPs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and alarms related to upgrades.
- Coordinate activities with customers and internal teams.
- Prepare progress reports and project documentation.
- Provide 24/7 operational support for maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- Optical networking technologies (OTN, DWDM, MPLS)
- Hands-on experience with Ciena platforms (OME6500, RLS, Waveserver)
- Network software upgrades and maintenance
- Network audits, assessments, and MOP preparation
- Basic troubleshooting and alarm resolution
- Experience with Site Manager and MCP/Navigator
- Ability to work in 24/7 operations / NOC environments
- Strong communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills
- Good to Know Skills: Hands-on experience with Ciena equipment (OME6500, RLS, Waveserver, etc.).
