Job Description
Agile Product Manager delivering self-service solutions for a major insurance provider with a focus on customer experience. Collaborating across teams to prioritize and validate requirements in a SAFe Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Our Client is one of the United States’ largest insurers, providing a wide range of insurance and financial services products with gross written premiums well over US$25 Billion (P&C).
- Product Managers collaborate with product owners, developers, architects, scrum master and business owners/SMEs to create features that deliver self-service solutions that are aligned with strategic business goals.
- Follows through with development, some UAT, demo's, to ensure business needs are met with the development associated with the features assigned.
- Works in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Maximizes the delivery of value to customers in the shortest sustainable lead time.
- Identifies business and customer needs, prioritizing program level work and guiding this work through the process of Program Kanban.
- Contributes to the development of the vision and defining and executing on the roadmap for the value stream in which they support with the guidance of a more senior PM or Business Leader.
- Continuously defines, prioritizes and validates requirements using market research, customer feedback and development capacity to deliver value in short, integrated learning cycles.
Requirements:
- Total Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, or a related digital role.
- Domain Expertise: 2+ years of experience specifically managing customer-facing digital products (Websites or Mobile Apps). Experience in Insurance or Financial Services is a significant plus.
- Agile Proficiency: Proven experience working within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or similar enterprise-level Agile environment.
- Lifecycle Management: Demonstrated experience taking features from initial discovery/research through to UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and deployment.
- Technical & Soft Skills:
- SAFe/Agile Methodology - Intermediate: Must be comfortable writing Features and managing User Stories, and participating in PI (Program Increment) Planning.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Architects, Developers, Designers, and Business SMEs) without direct authority.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience using customer feedback and web analytics to prioritize a product backlog.
- Communication Skills - Intermediate/Advanced: Strong ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and vice-versa.
- Software / Tool Skills:
- Rally: 1–3 years of experience using Rally (or Jira/Azure DevOps) for backlog management and tracking.
- Figma: 1–3 years of experience navigating design files, providing feedback to UX designers, and using prototypes to communicate vision.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Excel (data analysis) and PowerPoint (roadmap presentations).
- "Nice to Have" Certifications
- POPM (SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager) certification.
- CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner).
