Job Description
Internship role for students at Daktronics developing skills in data analytics and programming. Working on projects related to business intelligence and collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Using analytics to gain business insight and drive improvements.
- Gathering business requirements for tools, product offerings, or systems.
- Data integrity solutions and best practices for data validation and verification.
- Process improvements – how to successfully plan, implement, document, and train systemic changes.
- Programming in Excel, SQL, Power BI, and other programs to create tools for business use.
- Business communication.
- Discovering, preparing, organizing, and analyzing data from across the enterprise to support Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions.
- Ensuring data integrity in databases.
- Managing and analyzing reports using internal and external programs such as Salesforce, Glovia, Windchill, and Excel.
- Utilizing tools such as PowerBI to develop self-service reports and dashboards.
- Understanding the business processes and how they interact with the data.
- Discovering, designing, developing, and maintaining solutions using programming languages such as SQL or VBA.
- Assisting with quality assurance (QA) of solutions.
- Troubleshooting data issues with production solutions.
- Collaborating with others to solve problems.
Requirements:
- The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Math, Statistics, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- The preferred applicant will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.
- Only strong academic performers will be considered and must maintain an acceptable GPA.
- Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
- Microsoft office experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and take direction on solving complex business information problems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all Daktronics information.
- Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
