Job Description

Genetic Counselor Assistant supporting rare-disease customer inquiries and escalations at Abbott. Developing clinical training and improving workflows for diagnostic services.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical expertise and operational support for the rare disease customer-facing team at PreventionGenetics
  • Act as a clinical liaison for internal and external customers and address elevated inquiries
  • Facilitate elevation and documentation for Unsolicited Medical Inquiries across the product portfolio
  • Provide product-specific clinical training, including content creation and collaboration with training teams
  • Collaborate with laboratory and pathology teams on case resolution and process improvements
  • Monitor clinical inquiry and escalation metrics, identify trends, and support corrective and preventative actions
  • Investigate escalations to identify process gaps and recommend retraining or workflow adjustments
  • Document information according to standard operating procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field related to the essential duties; or Associate's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or computer screen and perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day
  • Ability to work weekdays, nights and/or weekends and overtime as needed
  • Must be available Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM CST, with weekly rotating shifts
  • Ability to work continuous sitting for prolonged periods and use a keyboard for at least 50% of the workday

Benefits:
