Job Description
Leidos MFLC counselor providing flexible counseling and outreach to military Service Members and families. Supporting adults, children, and youth across military installations and community settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide face-to-face counseling to military Service Members and their families, including individual, couples, family, and children’s counseling
- Recommend appropriate referrals and handoffs to military and community resources based on differential clinical skills and client needs
- Offer presentations addressing social skills development and social-emotional learning for early childhood development
- Build rapport with Service Members, spouses, and children through installation and community events
- Support families and children with military-community challenges, transitions, recurring moves, separations, and deployments
- Provide adult counseling, consultation, and outreach to eligible Service Members and adult family members
- Provide CYB counseling, consultation, and outreach to eligible children, youth, parents, staff, and faculty
- Observe, participate, and engage in activities with children and youth
- Coach, guide, and support staff and parents, including modeling behavior-management techniques
- Perform duties across indoor and outdoor military, school, and child-development-center environments
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD)
- Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in a state or territory of the United States
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment
- Must be able to obtain a National/Child National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to support either adults or minors in varied military-community assignments
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including uneven grassy, gravel, and dirt areas, stairs, weather exposure, and sitting on the floor with children for up to two hours
