Job Description

Federal Financial Analyst supporting U.S. clients with accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit activities. Analyzing federal financial data and preparing documentation using Excel and related tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Support federal accounting and financial management activities under the direction of senior team members.
  • Assist with general ledger and financial reporting data analysis, account reconciliations, and identification of discrepancies or unusual balances.
  • Support federal budgetary accounting and financial reporting activities, including SBR, GTAS, and related reporting requirements.
  • Review financial data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy and assist with transaction-level analysis and root-cause research.
  • Assist senior staff with researching and documenting accounting issues and preparing adjusting journal entries, including supporting calculations and documentation.
  • Prepare schedules, workpapers, reconciliations, and other accounting documentation.
  • Support audit readiness, audit response, and remediation activities.
  • Perform financial data analysis using Microsoft Excel and other financial or analytical tools.
  • Document procedures, analysis results, and conclusions clearly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants, project leadership, and client personnel while incorporating feedback and maintaining high standards for accuracy and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of relevant experience in federal accounting, financial management, audit, or related fields, with experience working with financial data, reconciliations, account analysis, or financial reporting.
  • 1+ year of experience analyzing financial data using Microsoft Excel, with proficiency in formulas, filtering, sorting, and related financial analysis functions.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting accounting or financial management activities.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, written and verbal communication, and the ability to document work and collaborate effectively.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
