Job Description
Backend Engineer focusing on Ruby on Rails at a leading Fintech company supporting small businesses in Europe. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and enhance innovative financial software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- You will be part of a technical organization of more than 250 people. Each engineer belongs to a team focused on a part of the product and reports to a Team Lead or an Engineering Manager.
- Each team has all the skills necessary to build features end-to-end autonomously; you will work daily with a product manager, a designer, and software engineers.
- You will participate in the discovery phase of projects with the product manager and designer to define the feature to be built; then you will work with other engineers to design the software architecture, implement it, test it, and deploy it to production.
- The team also supports customers using the features developed by monitoring and fixing production issues.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience with Ruby on Rails
- A balanced mix of technical, business, and product skills
- Demonstrated empathy for your users and a desire to solve real problems for them
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate your ideas clearly
- Fluent in English (French is not required)
- A team player with experience working in an agile environment
Benefits:
- You can work remotely from anywhere in Europe, as long as your contract allows it
- You will receive a compensation package
- You will be granted company equity so you can share in the success you help build
- You will have a budget to make your home a more comfortable workspace, plus a monthly allowance to work from a coworking space when you wish
- Through our partner Gymlib, you will have access to 8,000 fitness locations across Europe and more than 300 wellness activities
- You will have access to Busuu to improve your English or French
- You will receive the latest Apple hardware
- You will be part of an active social community: we do a lot of sports together (football, running, climbing...), and we enjoy meeting for drinks (Thursday rooftop drinks are common). Twice a year we hold company offsites — the last time we traveled to the French Alps and it was fantastic!
- If you are based in France:
- You can work fully from home or any coworking space in France, or from our beautiful office in central Paris
- You will receive between 6 and 13 additional days off (on top of the standard 25 days) each year to rest and enjoy yourself
- You will receive lunch credits (Swile card) to buy your favorite meals every day
- You will benefit from excellent health coverage (Alan Blue) to take care of you and your family
- We are working to offer these benefits to employees based outside France as well, but this may be more complex depending on the country
