Job Description
Interpreter providing remote interpretation services in Fulani, Wolof, and French for various settings. Collaborating with a diverse team while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Provide over the phone and video remote consecutive interpretation services in a variety of settings, including medical, emergency, legal, social, and customer service environments
- Accurately and effectively convey messages between speakers of Fulani/Wolof/French and English
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Research and prepare to ensure a thorough understanding
- Remain culturally sensitive and aware
- Be punctual, professional, and reliable
- Familiarize yourself with our company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Excellent bilingual communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful or emotional situations in a professional manner
- Outstanding listening, retention and note-taking skills
- Previous Interpretation experience is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with medical, legal, and business terminology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Proficient understanding of cultural sensitivity, and ability to collaborate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
