Job Description

Full-time Bookkeeper managing full cycle bookkeeping for Canadian clients using QuickBooks and Xero. Join a dynamic team supporting innovative technology companies in the Philippines.

Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle bookkeeping for BrightIron clients in their accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) on an accrual basis
  • Maintain the general ledger for clients in their accounting software
  • Create monthly account reconciliations and continuities for all balance sheet accounts, and select P&L accounts
  • Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement
  • Work Collaboratively and develop and maintain relationship with clients, and BrightIron team members
  • Collaborate with Canadian BrightIron team members to ensure smooth handoffs and minimal rework
  • Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement
  • Assist with various ad-hoc client requests

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting working with Canadian or US clients
  • Experience using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
  • Proficient in using Excel
  • Experience working in a client serving accounting role
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including fluency in English
  • High degree of comfort working with different technologies
  • Excellent time management and self-management skills
  • Solid problem solving and analysis skills
  • High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive
  • Ability to build strong connections with clients and team members
