Job Description
Full-time Bookkeeper managing full cycle bookkeeping for Canadian clients using QuickBooks and Xero. Join a dynamic team supporting innovative technology companies in the Philippines.
Responsibilities:
- Full cycle bookkeeping for BrightIron clients in their accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) on an accrual basis
- Maintain the general ledger for clients in their accounting software
- Create monthly account reconciliations and continuities for all balance sheet accounts, and select P&L accounts
- Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement
- Work Collaboratively and develop and maintain relationship with clients, and BrightIron team members
- Collaborate with Canadian BrightIron team members to ensure smooth handoffs and minimal rework
- Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement
- Assist with various ad-hoc client requests
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting working with Canadian or US clients
- Experience using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
- Proficient in using Excel
- Experience working in a client serving accounting role
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including fluency in English
- High degree of comfort working with different technologies
- Excellent time management and self-management skills
- Solid problem solving and analysis skills
- High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
- Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive
- Ability to build strong connections with clients and team members
