Job Description

Charge Capture Analyst optimizing Epic/Cerner charge capture and revenue-integrity workflows for a healthcare financial solutions provider. Supporting hospital teams through system builds, training, CDM processes, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, document, and maintain current and future-state charge capture workflows across applicable departments
  • Direct order set and preference card builds within Epic or Cerner to support accurate and compliant charge capture
  • Develop and deliver training and education to hospital staff on charge capture changes, workflow updates, and Epic or Cerner functionality
  • Collaborate with Revenue Integrity and coding teams to develop, implement, and refine Charge Description Master (CDM) processes
  • Partner with clinical, billing, coding, and IT teams to identify charge capture gaps and implement corrective workflows
  • Ensure charge capture processes align with applicable hospital, regulatory, and payer requirements
  • Support hospitals as a subject-matter expert in charge-capture workflows, Epic or Cerner system builds, and revenue-integrity processes

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with Epic or Cerner, focused on charge capture, revenue cycle, or related modules
  • Experience with order sets and/or preference cards within all revenue-generating departments, including ancillary and nursing, in Epic or Cerner
  • Working knowledge of Charge Description Master (CDM) structure and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of hospital billing, CPT/ICD-10 coding concepts, and revenue integrity principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to train and present to diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in remote and on-site environments
  • Experience with revenue cycle compliance and charge capture audit processes
  • Ability to work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day
  • Ability to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. infrequently
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Epic and/or Cerner Certification preferred but not required
