Job Description
Chief Legal Officer managing legal aspects for Bundesverbraucherhilfe e.V., a consumer organization shaping policy and enhancing consumer rights while being 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
- Establishment and leadership of the legal department
- Structuring, building and strategic development of a growing legal team
- Designing processes for the efficient handling of legal matters
- Handling and prioritizing consumer law inquiries
- Analysis, legal classification and qualified handling of consumer protection matters
- Development of standards for legal consumer advice
- Internal legal counsel to the association
- Administration and review of contractual matters
- Ensuring legally compliant association structures and resolutions
- Legal support for political initiatives and consumer-protection related legislation
Requirements:
- Completed law degree with Second State Examination (fully qualified lawyer)
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: consumer law, contract law, association/nonprofit law, compliance/data protection, commercial/business law
- Experience in setting up legal structures or in a senior legal leadership role is an advantage
- Ability to present complex issues clearly and precisely
- High sense of responsibility, structured thinking and enthusiasm for shaping organizational development
- Willingness to work remotely and flexibly on a voluntary basis
- Interest in political engagement and achieving societal impact
