Job Description
Crop Claims Adjuster investigating and evaluating Federal Crop and Crop Hail Claims. Communicating with clients and determining coverage levels in assigned Illinois counties.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, inspect, evaluate, and pay Federal Crop and Crop Hail Claims
- Review the client's policy and determine coverage levels
- Make contact with the client within 24 hours and explain claims procedures
- Set inspection date/time and inspect the damage
- Determine cause of loss and evaluate the damages
- Calculate the amount of damages and issue payment
- Communicate and negotiate with individuals regarding investigation and settlement of claims
- Adjust all federal crop claims in the American Farm Bureau Insurance Services CAP estimating system
Requirements:
- Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training
- Requires a valid driver's license for all levels
- Federal Crop Certification for P2-P4
- Typically requires climbing and or walking fields in all weather conditions
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs
- May be required to travel with overnight or extended stay as needed
- Must live in or around the following Illinois counties: Mercer/Henry/Rock Island
