Job Description

Client Services Agent supporting customers for ARUP Laboratories, a clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory. Managing patient orders, test inquiries, and issue resolution through phone, email, and laboratory systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain customer relationships through phone, email, and other communications
  • Create and modify patient orders and demographics according to complex ordering procedures, processes, and policies
  • Prioritize, research, and respond to requests for test information, specimen requirements, supplies, and fees
  • Provide education, guidance, and resolution regarding available resources, information, and application utility
  • Promote and use multiple ARUP systems to research and resolve customer issues
  • Document and follow through on cases to support customer satisfaction
  • Serve as a liaison between ARUP customers and technical sections
  • Exercise judgment on complex job requirements to best serve patients, customers, and ARUP
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent or better
  • Ability to type at 35 WPM and use 10-key skills
  • Basic computer skills, including internet proficiency and effective navigation of computer and phone systems
  • For remote workers: internet download speed of 75 Mbps and upload speed of 50 Mbps, or ability to obtain this before the start date
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 5:30 PM–2:00 AM MST, 40 hours per week
  • Ability to complete approximately 9 weeks of training during the stated training schedule
  • Preferred: college-level courses in medical terminology, biology, communications, or related life sciences
  • Preferred: general medical laboratory experience
  • Preferred: one year of customer service experience
  • Preferred: familiarity with a laboratory information system (LIS)
  • Preferred: intermediate computer skills, including internet proficiency
  • Preferred: HIPAA training or knowledge
  • Ability to comply with CDC, OSHA, and company PPE requirements in a biohazard laboratory environment
  • Ability to comply with all ARUP policies and procedures
