Job Description

Cloud Data Engineer building AWS-based integrations and scalable data pipelines for Stride’s online K-12 education solutions. Automating core school-management workflows through Python, SQL, APIs, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop modular data integrations using event-based architecture
  • Partner with data analysts and architects to understand and meet development requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical leads during design and development
  • Develop unit tests and drive integration, end-to-end, and performance testing
  • Drive integrations through CI/CD validation, testing, and deployment processes
  • Communicate and demo integration solutions and progress in bi-weekly sprint reviews
  • Maintain deployed data integrations, monitor for issues, and resolve problems
  • Automate core business needs for online K-12 learning and school management at scale

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent training
  • Three (3) years of relevant professional experience with AWS cloud services or equivalent Azure/GCP services
  • Proficiency in Python development
  • Proficiency using SQL and APIs to automate interactions with data stores and systems
  • Familiarity with pub/sub event-based architecture and ETL data pipeline patterns
  • Experience developing unit, integration, functional, and performance tests
  • Experience with enterprise-grade DevOps practices, version control branching, release management, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with a highly collaborative and agile remote development team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to clear a required background check
  • Experience in education and/or educational technology industries preferred
  • Experience with data streaming, data integration, and batch data pipelines desired
  • Experience with relational databases, object storage, graph databases, and data warehouses desired
  • Experience with Snowflake or equivalent data warehousing services desired
  • AWS or Azure cloud certifications desired
