Job Description
Cloud Software Developer building AWS cloud-native applications with Node.js, React.js, Terraform, and Linux. Supporting GDIT’s government, defense, and intelligence technology missions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Node.js, React.js, and related frameworks
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CDK
- Build and deploy pipelines and support platform operations
- Perform Linux-based troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Implement secure-by-design patterns and participate in compliance and hardening tasks
- Collaborate on workloads using AWS services including Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, VPC, and IAM
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, cloud engineers, architects, and DevOps teams
- Provide on-call support and/or work a flexible schedule based on operational demands
Requirements:
- Technical Training, Certificate, or Degree required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant experience preferred
- 5+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing required
- 7+ years of total IT experience preferred
- Proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience building and maintaining React.js front-end applications
- Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including navigation, logs, permissions, and troubleshooting techniques
- Practical experience designing and deploying solutions in AWS, including core services and networking
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or AWS CDK, including modules, variables, and state management
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven patterns
- Ability to explain architectural tradeoffs, troubleshooting steps, and real-world problem solving
- Experience building and deploying pipelines and platform operations
- Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Must provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility
- Must be a US Person: Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, or US Citizen
- Must provide on-call support and/or follow a flexible work schedule as needed
- Less than 10% travel required
