Job Description

Cloud systems developer managing Ford’s OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms on GCP and Azure. Ensuring reliable, scalable infrastructure and automating platform operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a high-performing team of platform engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Develop engineering solutions and manage day-to-day operations of OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP and Azure
  • Ensure high availability, security, and scalability of container platforms
  • Support platform service delivery, including defining, monitoring, and meeting SLAs, SLOs, and MTTx
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline operations, reduce manual tasks, and improve efficiency
  • Develop and enforce Infrastructure as Code best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the platform’s strategic direction and roadmap
  • Align platform capabilities with business needs and user requirements
  • Support technical issue resolution, troubleshooting, and post-mortem analyses

Requirements:

  • Proven 5+ years of experience working along a team of platform, DevOps, or site reliability engineers
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related technical field
  • Deep technical expertise with container orchestration platforms, specifically OpenShift and/or Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with managing and operating cloud infrastructure on GCP and/or Azure
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and tools, such as Terraform and GitOps
  • Strong understanding of service management principles, including SLAs, SLOs, and incident management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
