Job Description
Trial Attorney handling complex insurance defense cases for Farmers Insurance. Representing clients in high complexity legal proceedings with a focus on trial preparation and litigation strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Litigates cases of high complexity and exposure
- Acts as the lead attorney at hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials
- Develops and utilizes strategies and arguments to prepare for trial
- Utilizes knowledge of legal precedents to analyze the probable outcome of a case
- Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of approaches to a case
- Provides job-related guidance, mentoring, and training to other attorneys
Requirements:
- Experience handling matters that are high complexity and/or exposure
- First chair jury trial experience, and/or comparable court experience required
- Expansive knowledge of both procedural and substantive law
- Superlative skills in all areas including trial, public speaking and/or communication, case preparation, strategy, advocacy, negotiations, depositions, expert witnesses, damages, analysis/evaluation, reporting and client/customer service
