Job Description
Computer Science intern supporting software, cybersecurity, and data science initiatives at government contractor AnaVation. Building cloud demonstrations and software prototypes during a paid ten-week program.
Responsibilities:
- Support software design, coding, debugging, cyber security, and data science initiatives
- Apply cyber security techniques for offensive and defensive missions
- Create custom software applications, including ideation, development, and testing
- Develop technology demonstrations leveraging commercial cloud infrastructures such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Assess new application ideas
- Research competitor offerings
- Develop applications as part of a team
- Demonstrate a prototype to company leadership at the end of the internship
- Participate in mentoring, learning activities, and project work
- Gain exposure to government contracting and professional information technology development and support
Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a US Government security clearance; successful candidates may be sponsored for a Security Clearance
- Computer Science Major with targeted graduation date of May 2028
- Excellent analytical and math skills
- Ability to work in teams
- Minimum 3.0 grade point average
- Computer literacy; proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated work ethic, goal-oriented, and history of academic success
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinker, leader, team player, and self-managed learner
- Preferred: Experience with a group programming project
- Preferred: Experience with Agile Processes especially Scrum
- Preferred: Proficient in Java and Python
- Preferred: Experience with Front End and/or Back End development
- Preferred: Experience with NodeJS
- Preferred: Experience with GIT
- Preferred: Experience with Cloud Systems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Preferred: Developing software projects as a hobby
