Job Description

Remote Consumer Loan Processor managing consumer real estate loan documentation and closing pipelines. Supporting SouthState Bank customers and lenders while ensuring compliance and accurate files.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming consumer loan closing and title requests in the Bank’s consumer loan origination system
  • Manage a pipeline of loan applications
  • Collect and review consumer loan-related documents
  • Review loan approvals, supporting documentation, and Bank systems to ensure due diligence is completed
  • Determine HMDA eligibility, review flood determinations, title work, insurance documents, settlement/closing statements, funding documentation, disclosures, titling information, purchase contracts, entity documentation, and appraisals
  • Request documentation from Customers and/or Lenders
  • Order third-party services such as tax transcripts, title work, flood determinations, surveys, payoffs, VIN verification, and insurance declarations
  • Obtain all underwriting conditions
  • Keep Customers and Lenders updated on document requests and loan status through verbal and written communication
  • Coordinate closing dates with Lenders, Customers, and/or Closing Agents
  • Manage consumer real estate applications to meet department service-level agreements and critical loan dates
  • Enter consumer loan origination system data accurately and timely
  • Submit complete and accurate loan files to Consumer Loan Closing
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • One to three years of consumer loan documentation experience required
  • Loan processing with real estate transactions preferred
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of NewGen preferred, but not required
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn department and Bank software
  • Ability to handle simultaneous tasks and meet timelines/deadlines
  • Ability to provide high-level service to internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to problem solve and appropriately escalate issues
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods and efficiently access and interpret computer screens, documents, and reports
  • Candidates may be located anywhere within the SouthState footprint: FL, GA, AL, VA, SC, NC, TX, or CO
