Job Description

Loan Processor reviewing borrower documentation, compliance, and underwriting packages for CrossCountry Mortgage, a nationwide distributed retail mortgage lender. Managing pipelines and resolving investor suspense items.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality customer service by obtaining necessary documentation to underwrite loans
  • Order third-party documentation by communicating directly with customers and/or Loan Officers
  • Provide required disclosures under applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Review and analyze borrowers’ credit, employment, income, and assets before underwriting
  • Assemble complete loan packages for underwriting
  • Verify required documentation and complete loan checklists
  • Verify application completeness and accuracy and identify potential underwriting issues
  • Prepare loan approval summaries, Forms 1008 and 1003, and verify document accuracy
  • Communicate with Loan Originators, customers, and Underwriters to obtain required documentation
  • Review loans for compliance with mortgage-related regulations and prepare disclosures
  • Obtain property surveys, flood certificates, title commitments, and payoff information
  • Verify vendor orders, invoices, and applicant e-files
  • Manage the pipeline and submit reports within allotted turnaround times
  • Assist with loan setup
  • Document loan-related communication in the conversation log
  • Train and assist with supervision of new Loan Processors and other processing personnel
  • Assist closing, secondary marketing, and loan servicing teams with clearing investor suspense items

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ residential mortgage processing experience
  • Experience with Encompass
  • Working knowledge of RESPA regulations and general knowledge of mortgage and consumer lending regulations, including Regulation Z and Regulation B requirements, and loan documents, preferred
  • Knowledge of DU, LP, Microsoft Office, and Windows
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Available to work varying hours and overtime if needed
