Job Description
Home Loan Processor managing mortgage documentation, underwriting updates, and compliance. Supporting California members through accurate, efficient loan processing at Golden 1 Credit Union.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and communicate information with Members, Home Loan Advisors and Vendors for loan transactions
- Order title reports and flood certificates, follow up on appraisal orders, and review documentation for accuracy
- Research and request additional documentation as needed
- Calculate income, including tax returns, and verify assets according to investor guidelines and company policies
- Update the Loan Origination System (LOS) with calculations, documentation, correspondence and tracking details
- Read, interpret and update Desktop Underwriter (DU) findings
- Ensure DU and LOS systems match file documentation before final underwriting submission
- Review credit documentation for compliance with investor and company policies
- Manage the loan pipeline to meet service levels, efficiency and loan-quality requirements
- Complete Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) information
- Maintain and respond to quality-control issues
- Perform other assigned tasks
Requirements:
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a High School diploma
- 2+ years mortgage lending experience
- Processing experience preferred
- Maintain a thorough understanding of BSA, RESPA, TILA, TRID and AML laws
- Knowledge of FNMA, G1CU equity products and related investor guidelines
- All selected candidates must satisfy background screening requirements of the Federal Credit Union Act
- Must be eligible to work remotely in California
